The PTS Recertification course is intended for candidates who wish to continue working for the rail industry – either on the railway line or elsewhere within Network Rail’s infrastructure.
Our recertification course will go over everything you learned during your original Personal Track Safety course, refreshing your knowledge, and assessing if you’re still competent to work in such a fast-paced environment.
Please call us on 0151 257 6969.
To apply for a place on the PTS Recertification course, you must currently hold PTS certification within the 8 week grace period from the expiry date.
Learners must provide valid ID – be it a passport, driving license or ID card – along with a National Insurance document and proof of address.
Candidates must also have:
- a sponsor
- a medical, drugs and alcohol assessment
- the blue PTS logbook with a minimum of 4 completed and endorsed entries
- appropriate PPE (i.e. steel toe boots, white helmet and Hi-Vis clothing)
The PTS Recertification recertifies PTS competence through Sentinel accreditation. The refresher course will reassess the candidate’s knowledge – ensuring you know how to work safely when on or near the trainline.
By the end of PTS Recertification, you should be able to:
- deal with emergencies
- communicate effectively
- demonstrate your ability to interpret the Personal Track Safety handbook and local instructions when working on or near the railway
- identify areas of the track and features (i.e. signage and telephones)
- cross the railway track safely
Duration: 1 Day
Maximum Attendees: 12
After completing PTS Recertification, your Sentinel profile will be updated and the qualification will be added within 48 hours – allowing you to continue working on the railway.
