Protection Controller (PC)

Course Information:  This course is designed to train persons who have been nominated by their line manager/sponsor to enable them to attain the Protection Controller competence.  A Protection Controller must be appointed when a line blockage is required to be taken and shared by two or more COSS’s or IWA’s.

Pre-Requisite:Medical, Drugs and Alcohol, sponsorship, must be over 18.  Must have a white hat

Course Objective:

On successful completion of the course the candidate will be able to:

1:  Have the skills and knowledge required to undertake Protection Controller duties in line with the Protection Controller unit of competence.

2:  Carry out the duties of a Protection Controller to a high standard of competence, in line with relevant Railway Group Standards.

Duration: 1 Day

Maximum Attendees: 8

Certification: Course results will be uploaded to the Sentinel site within 48hrs.
