Six Amazing Benefits Of A Diploma For The Early Years Practitioner

Working with children is a great career choice. Probably you’ve always enjoyed the company of children and are a natural-born caregiver. You never get tired of coming up with creative solutions to deal with everyday problems and are not scared to deal with daily tantrums and you feel like working in early childhood might fulfill all your dreams and be the right fit for you.

And you’re probably right!

Yet, childcare is a very broad professional field involving a great number of different professions (you could be a teacher, a nanny, a nursery worker…) and you feel naturally drawn to becoming an early years practitioner.  That’s great, because we are going to tell you six amazing benefits of getting a diploma to become one!

No Day Is The Same…

Working with children might be challenging because each of the kids you’ll interact with is different. Every child has different qualities, potentiality and characteristics and you will have to come up with different solutions to deal with each of them. Although that might sound extremely demanding, an Early Years Practitioner diploma will give you all the instruments you need to become a confident professional.

Good Career Progression…

With a career in Early Years you will be in charge of the creation and management of activities tailored to the children’s needs and issues, so that you can guide them through a healthy -and fun- development. You will always have your hands full and will soon find out that running an Early Year facility requires more than just hands-on experience. You might want to work into gaining managerial experience that can later be transformed into a full-time career in the same field. Depending on your training and experience, you could have a well-paid career path down for yourself!

There’s Always Room For Improvement…

That’s right! Our diploma course in Early Years is a Level 2 diploma. That means that, should you decide to go further in your education, you could get higher qualifications such as a Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (EYE) or a Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning.  Both of them can be obtained in 12-18 months and jump-start your career in Early Years and Education.

Will Hold An Outstanding Knowledge in Childcare and Development

Working in Early Years not only requires a keen disposition towards children. You are also required to hold deep and detailed knowledge and understanding of child development. In order to get your Diploma, you will have to prove that you can deal with different developmental situations and be able to tailor your work to each child’s specific needs. You will be educated in child nutrition, wellbeing and how to spot signs of neglect and abuse.

You will gain relevant experience with children who have disabilities and special educational needs.

You Can Get Your Diploma Through Apprenticeship

An Early Years Practitioner Diploma can be obtained through apprenticeship. That means that you can learn while you are earning a salary and can be the best solution if you’re just getting started.

You Get To Work With Children!

Last but not least, having an Early Years Practitioner Diploma allows you to work with children from 0 to 5 years old, making it the perfect choice if you want to learn a new profession whilst earning a salary and you love dealing with newborns and toddlers.

Can you imagine how fun this is going to be?
